Simple enough to see if it is indeed the phone company%26#39;s problem or an inside wiring problem in your home.

IF you know where the interface box is (where the phone line comes to your home, there is a box that when opened will have a place for you to actually plug your phone into it and get a dial tone etc. to test your line).

When you find this interface box, plug one of your phones into the box and if you get the SAME thing at this point, it is NOT your phone, wiring etc., it IS a problem with the phone company%26#39;s line.

NOW, if this IS a voicemail notification, surely you%26#39;d know that by now, but maybe not. If you DO have voicemail, you would know it because when you have voicemail through the phone company YOU PAY FOR IT. It%26#39;s not free either, it%26#39;s about $5 extra a month. PLUS, I%26#39;d think you would know how to use it especially if you wanted it enough to subscribe to it!

SO, bottom line, go to that interface box and plug your phone in and see what happens. If it does NOT do it at this point, then yes, you might need to further investigate by having the phone company come out. Whether it is your inside wiring or NOT, the phone company should accomodate you and repair regardless of if it%26#39;s their responsibility or yours.
