my internet keeps disconnecting when i use my phone, whether i dial out or someone is ringing me. when i pick up the phone i can hear my Belkin modem ringing/dialing and there%26#39;s quite a bit of static.
i%26#39;ve changed all my cables, the dsl filters, my modem and my phone but the problem is still there.
Any suggestions?
Answer:
Dial-Up Internet:
If you are using Dial-Up internet, it will disconnect once you pick up the reciever to make a call.
While using Dial-up internet, your phone should be busy for caller at that time. If not, i.e. if you get ring, that means you have call waiting enabled on your phone line and once somebody calls, internet will automatically disconnect and you will hear the ring.
You may disable call waiting on your phone, or the dial-up dialog box should have option to disable and enable automatically.
DSL: It should not occure, still you may try using a DSL filter. just check it out weather its a dial-up or broadband connection, b%26#39;coz such problems just occur with dial-up only, hope u%26#39;ll be able 2 understand that it all happens bcoz of speed. If you have dial up, you need a second line. DSL does not.
