Hi, no one has asked whether you are on dial up, if so unfortunately there is no way to stop it. (although it used to be that the line would just show busy to the caller). If you are on Broadband however this shouldn%26#39;t happen. Have you got your filters on correctly - see your original set -up booklet! also another might be that you are plugging your line directly into your modem/hub. You should have it plugged into your adsl filter. Alternatively it might be worthwhile calling your provider. Thats because you or your parents have a one line only so if your on the internet the phone rings it shuts off.
If you or someone else in the home are on the phone and someone else trys to get on the computer it starts making this like fax machine noise. upgrade on you service. You usually get a splitter with your router which filters the phone system so that you can use the phone while you surf.
Try an "Exelsus Z-Blocker DSL FILTER.
Model Z-420UKP2J.
Try here:-
http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=excel... It%26#39;s down to where you have your filter plugged in (if you are using a broadband connection). If you are on dial up - get in the 21st century, but it%26#39;s common that your connection drops when you are on dial up and you receive a call. In your internet modem settings you should add "*70" as the dialing prefix. This will turn off call waiting which causes the modem to get choked up. Hmmm.. What exactly is this "internet box" ??
Can%26#39;t help unless I know what it is...
