I have a landline and need to keep it to collect voice messages. I don%26#39;t use it to make or receive calls. Is there a land line service that I can get... keeping the same phone number that will be less expensive and allow me to use it only for voice mail and no incoming or outgoing calls?

PrivatePhone, (by Netzero) is a free voicemail service, and you can pick a number anywhere you want. You CANNOT use your home landline phone number on this service. (www.privatephone.com) privatephone.com offers a free number with voice mail.. i do not know if they will port your line for this service..
