Is isdn better than other phone line ?how?

Answer:

ISDN is a "standard" and not a "product". Digital products would include ADSL, T1, E1, PRI all of which would be ISDN ready. yes. Use and see ISDN is better because it uses 2 x 64kbps (b channels) for data traffic whilst analog only uses a 56.6kbps analog line.

If you%26#39;re on the Internet with you analog line then you won%26#39;t be able to call or do anything else until you disconnect the line. With ISDN, you can use one channel for surfing the internet while the other line can be left open for phone calls or faxes. It all depends on how you set it up.

digital traffic is better because it has error handling features which improves the quality of the signal.

ISDN is not available in all places and have extra costs associated with it. yes ISDN is better than a regular phone connection for internet purposes, however it has been made pretty much obsolete by ADSL. It all depends what you want to use it for, if it is just calls then the difference between a standard line and ISDN is just that the signal is digital all the way through. If you are using it for data you can connect twice as fast as a normal line, and have the benefit of making calls whilst you surf. ISDN has been made obsolete since the introduction of ADSL/Broadband in the UK and most operators are phasing it out as ADSL is cheaper and faster for the customer so new connections use that instead. ISDN tends to be used by businesses as they provide additional benefits via a telephone system, such as direct dial numbers.

If you%26#39;re thinking of using it a home, you%26#39;ll need a terminal adaptor to be able to plug a standard "home" phone into, which tends to be expensive and difficult to find nowadays as no-one uses them.

ISDN at home could be useful as it does give you faster dial up speeds to access the internet, but with the advent of much faster ADSL services available to most of us it really doesn%26#39;t make sense.

So, I would suggest that if all you need is a voice line use a standard analogue service with broadband on top for the internet. It%26#39;s cheaper and much more efficient.
