Long distance phone call?

My friend from Hong Kong will call me on her IDD phone, i%26#39;m in the US will i be charged anything? She will be the one calling me on a regular landline phone.

Answer:

Why don%26#39;t you and your friend download Skype...it%26#39;s a free VOIP service, you can talk for free through your internet connection if its a landline probably not; if its a cell phone there may be a charge...

you might want to look at phone cards which offer HK-US calls for under 5 cents a minute. Usually the person making the call is responsible for the toll charges, unless you accept a collect or person to person type call. Also be aware though if she is calling your cel phone and you dont have free minutes you will be charged the minutes. You shouldn%26#39;t have any charge unless you are being called on your cell phone and you don%26#39;t have free minutes. I call my parents from China using Skype and it doesn%26#39;t cost them anything. Skype is the cheapest way I%26#39;ve found to call internationally, and seems to have the best call quality for over-the-internet talking. Hope this helps! Unless the friend calls collect, you will not be charged for the call.
