Is calling National Do Not Call Registry from cell phone only to 888-382-1222 legit?? Just got an em

This is the email I received: REMINDER..7 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies, and you will start to receive sales calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS. To prevent this, call the following number FROM YOUR CELL PHONE: 888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for 5 years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, IT TAKES ABOUT 20 SECOND.

Answer:

if you go to the do not call registry they tell you about this phony scam.

Telemarketers are required by law not to call a cell phone even if it is your only means of contact. Even companies that can solicit you because of the rules don%26#39;t use your cell phone to much of a risk and customers don%26#39;t like to pay for solicitations. This is why I use my cell for contact and tell them up front it is a cell phone. I would not call that number. Go to the web site and input your land line and cell phone. There is no charge for the registry.
