My panasonic phone automatically goes into voicemail mode. help?

many phones sold now, have a voice mail indicator, instead of an answering machine, because voice mail is becoming a popular feature, and many companies provide voice mail with there calling packages..

if your voice mail indicator light is coming on when you plug your phone into the dial tone, then chances are that you have a voice mail waiting for you to receive...

pick up the receiver, and listen to the dial tone... if the dial tone "stutters" then you have a message waiting... when you check your voice mail, the indicator light should go away..
