My DSL line is off, when I pick up my phone [land line], it come on [ the green light on the modem]?

I have a lot of static on the land line

haha, the same happens to me, so I just leave the phone on, because if I turn it off, it will make the dsl stop working.

I suggest that you leave your phone on and continue to use the dsl for about 4-5 hours, then hang up the phone, and as you do that, keep refreshing your browser. That usually make my DSL work without keeping the phone on.
