Need Opinions...Have any of you cancelled your land line phone to use your cell as your primary phon

I%26#39;ve had my landline number since 1996...should I cancel and use only my cell phone?

My home phone bill is ridiculously expensive with long distance, caller id, etc.

I don%26#39;t want to do something I%26#39;ll be sorry for. I have a teenager in the home, also a preteen.

I have not had a landline phone in the past 6 years. I love it. I have cancelled the land line for 4 yrs now and I love it, but you%26#39;ve got kids so the situation is a little different. my dad is thinking about doing that, and giving like the rest of my family that doesn%26#39;t have a cell phone one, and then cutting off our home phone (he says its cheaper) My mom and I tried that. It was expensive. REALLY expensive. i am 15, but i know alot about cell phones lol i think that it would be a good idea to have just a cellphone or cell phones. but the way i see it there are pros and cons. pros are you can take them out of the house , and they are sometimes less expensive. cons are you need reception and you need to recharge them more so i hope i helped good luck with your choice No. I did that for three years and regretted it. So I had it reinstalled. I don%26#39;t use the long distance or caller id, so it costs me less. I just took the basic account. Hope this helps. No, because when the power goes out, you might not be able to use any kind of phone except a landline phone. Remember that after Katrina hit Mississippi, no one could call out to tell their relatives that they were okay, not even on a cell phone, because the electricity had been knocked out, leaving cell phone towers without power. yeah i cancled my land line last fall. my parents got the no when my mom bought the house in 62. then i bought it and took things over a few years ago retaining the same no but switching it over to my name. so yeah same no for almost 45 years. thought about giving it back to her when she moved into her smaller house. she didnt want it. so thats that. i actually got a land line to avoid high cost of mobile phone bills. depending on your phone carrier or service (verizon, t-mobile, ATnT,..etc..) some plans have those unlimited nights and weekends things. so what i do is during the day, when it%26#39;s considered peak hours according to my mobile phone, i forward my cell number to the land line and talk on that, if i%26#39;m away from home i only pick up important calls, if you do have a mobile plan with free long distance then that%26#39;s great just use that phone to talk long distance and don%26#39;t use the land line, vise versa. anyhow, i would do your research other than this yahoo Q%26#39;s ans A%26#39;s and check out your local ohone programs, it%26#39;s worth your time to save money especially when you have teens.
